Pros And Cons Of Renewable Energy Sources

June 9th, 2013

Solar energy involves utilizing the energy from the sun and harnessing it through solar panels. One of the benefits is absolute reliability; the sun continues to rise each day, and even on cloudy days without bright sunshine some energy can be harnessed.

But the strength of the sun, and the energy stored, is dependent on the weather. Areas that have bad weather for several months out of the year will not produce the same kind of energy as a region that is sunny most of the time, making solar energy less useful in regions with variable weather. Renewable Energy Sources Help The Environment

April 17th, 2013

Traditional energy sources, such as oil and other fossil fuels, not only use up our natural nonrenewable resources, but also heavily pollutes our environment. Renewable resources, such as wind, solar, and biomass, actually help the environment by causing less of an impact on our soil, air and water.

Unlike nonrenewable resources, renewable energy reduces the amount of greenhouse gases that get into the atmosphere. For example, solar panels generate energy by capturing the sun’s rays without producing any emissions. The more homes that switch to renewable resources, the less reliance there is on these polluting resources.

Traditional Energy Generation And The Effects On The Environment

April 16th, 2013

Without energy and power generation, the human population would never be able to improve. However, our reliance on traditional fossil fuels has had negative impacts on the environment.

One of the main impacts on the environment caused by our use of fossil fuels is global warming and climate change. Global warming refers to the overall atmospheric temperature increase, while climate change refers to the changing climate conditions, such as the melting of the icecaps. Burning fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases, which absorb and emit (more…)

Renewable vs. Traditional Energy Sources

April 15th, 2013

Most of today’s population relies on traditional fossil fuels, or nonrenewable resources, to power their homes. Unfortunately, there are only a finite, or limited amount of these resources, which causes fluctuations in their prices. Fossil fuels also have an incredibly negative impact on the environment, from releasing emissions and green house gases that cause climate change to direct destruction of the environment through mining or drilling.

Renewable resources, also known as green energy, are unlimited, which means that they can be used to power homes and businesses long after fossil (more…)

How Renewable Energy Sources Save The Environment

April 13th, 2013

Many people are starting to realize the environmental impact of using electricity to heat and cool their homes. If you would like to do your part in sustaining the environment, you should take steps to reduce the amount of electricity that you and your family use. You can also use alternative forms of energy such as wind and solar power. The environment benefits when you use natural forms of energy generation.

Benefits Of Renewable Energy Sources

April 9th, 2013

As our non-renewable resources are disappearing, it is important now more than ever to make the switch to a renewable source of energy to power homes. Renewable energy sources have tons of benefits for homeowners, from saving the environment to saving the homeowner money.

Traditional fossil fuels, including oil, coal and other natural gases, are pollutants to the environment. Many of these fuels create toxic waste as byproducts, that either ends up in the air or in the water supply. Renewable energy sources still often have impacts on the environment, (more…)
